MOON AND STARS
Very attractive watermelon growing up to 40 lb in weight. The bright red flesh is excellent tasting but it is the appearance of the rind which makes this melon stand out (and also gives it its name). The thick ridged dark green rind is speckled with yellow irregular splotches as are the leaves.
Sow direct when the soil is warm and all danger of frost is past. Sow the seeds in raised hills or rows 3 inches high. Thin to 3 plants per hill 3 feet apart, or 1 plant per foot in rows. For earlier fruit, seeds may be started indoors.
