CAMELLIA JAPONICA
In stock
Description
An attractive shrub grown both for its attractive evergreen glossy leaves and for its flowers, which come in a multitude of beautiful colours and forms. It is one of the first signs of colour in the garden, and a valuable plant for pollinators early in the season. It is suitable for growing in both pots and containers, as well as beds and borders, and requires very little maintenance.
Sowing Advice
These seeds have been cold-stored and should be sown on receipt. Prepare a pot with a mixture of peat, sterilised fine soil or loam, and grit. Sow thinly and very gently water the seeds in. Leave the seed tray in a cold or cool spot and keep moist. Germination sometimes takes only 4-8 weeks, but sometimes seeds only germinate in cool conditions in the spring. Plant out in peaty moist soil finally.
