Description
Enormous, (10cm/4" wide), rich magenta flowers bloom freely over a long season on this superb herbaceous, compact to dwarf sized plant. Being relatively compact, it is not as vigorous and uncontrollable as many others of this variety. Almost identical to the famous BOULEVARD 'ACROPOLIS', it is long-lived improving yearly. Very easy to grow, it will make a spectacular statement whether on a trellis or trained up an unsightly shrub. Flower colours may occasionally vary slightly but all will be fabulous.
Sowing Advice
Sow seeds at any time onto a good soil-based compost covering seeds with fine grit or compost to approximately their own depth. We recommend germinating at 15 to 20 degrees C. Germination may be very slow, perhaps 2-3 months, or sometimes much longer, and these seeds may sometimes wait for spring before emerging. Grow on individual seedlings in 3 inch pots before finally planting with climbing support in a well-drained spot or very large pot.
