Acer Pseudosieboldianum

Often called the Korean maple, Acer pseudosieboldianum combines the delicacy of a Japanese maple with exceptional cold tolerance. Its rounded leaves are finely divided into nine or more lobes, and the soft new growth is characteristically hairy. Green summer foliage transforms into a remarkable mosaic of scarlet, crimson, orange and gold in autumn. Small flowers with purplish bracts appear as the leaves unfold. Naturally forming a small tree or large shrub, it is an excellent choice for cool gardens where Japanese maples may suffer in severe winters.
