Acis Tingitana

Acis tingitana is a rare Moroccan snowflake from the Tangier region, producing narrow leaves and short stems topped by up to four elegant white flowers with sharply pointed tepals. Unlike the familiar autumn snowflake, it grows and flowers in spring and is associated with cool, seasonally damp places, including stream margins below the mountains. The bulbs are less frost-hardy than many European Acis and are best cultivated under cool glass or in a sheltered alpine house. Its rarity, geographical isolation and crisp, starry bells make it a rewarding collector’s species.
