This is the rarer, white-flowered form of the true "Monkshood" ,Aconitum napellus ‘Albiflorus’ is a striking and elegant form of monkshood, producing tall spires of pure white, hooded flowers that bring height and contrast to summer borders. These seeds offer a refined alternative to the traditional blue forms, particularly effective in mixed perennial planting and cooler garden settings.
Derived from the well-known European species Aconitum napellus, this white-flowered form shares the same strong, upright habit and deeply divided foliage. Flowering in mid to late summer, the architectural blooms provide structure at a time when many spring-flowering perennials have finished. Like all monkshoods, it prefers evenly moist soil and cool root conditions.
Best grown in moist, fertile soil in partial shade or sun, Aconitum napellus performs well in borders, woodland edges and north-facing aspects. Plants are long lived once established and benefit from minimal disturbance.
