Agapanthus Black Amethyst

This new seed-raised Agapanthus selection offers the exciting prospect of exceptionally dark blooms, with purple-black buds and flowers held in rounded heads above strong, strap-shaped foliage. The richest colouring should be most effective in full sun, where the near-black tones create a dramatic contrast with silver leaves, pale grasses and white-flowered companions. Seedlings will not be identical, allowing growers to select individual plants for depth of colour, flower form and vigour. Ideal for containers or sheltered borders, they should mature into bold, long-lived summer specimens.
