Agapanthus Campanulatus

Agapanthus campanulatus is a deciduous South African species valued for its natural grace and useful cold tolerance. Narrow grey-green leaves form tidy summer clumps, while erect stems carry rounded heads of bell-shaped flowers ranging from pale lavender to rich blue. Native to mountain grasslands where winters are cool and dry, the foliage dies back cleanly before returning in spring. It is a fine choice for sunny borders, gravel gardens and containers, combining a lighter, more botanical appearance than many large hybrids with reliable midsummer colour and handsome seed heads.
