Allium Seeds (68 varieties)
ViewPrairie onion is a hardy North American allium that flowers later than many ornamental onions, carrying rounded clusters of rosy pink to lavender, star-shaped blooms from midsummer into early autumn. Slender stems rise above narrow grassy leaves, allowing the flowers to mingle naturally with prairie grasses and late perennials rather than dominating them. Native to dry prairies, rocky slopes and open woodland from Canada southwards, it tolerates cold, drought and lean soil once established. The long flowering season and abundant nectar make it valuable to bees and insects late in the year.
