Aloe charlotteae, commonly known as Charlotte's Aloe, is a medium-sized succulent native to the Andringitra massif in south-central Madagascar. It forms a short, slender, often decumbent trunk that holds a crown of up to 40 ascending, glaucous green leaves with a reddish tinge. In late winter to early spring, it produces sparsely branched, tall inflorescences bearing yellow, slightly campanulate flowers that attract hummingbirds and other pollinators.
Thriving in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soils, Aloe charlotteae is drought-tolerant once established, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping and low-water gardens. Its ornamental value is enhanced by its unique leaf coloration and striking floral display, making it a standout specimen in succulent collections or rock gardens.
