View'Rose Queen' is a refined form of the Rocky Mountain columbine, carrying large, long-spurred flowers in deep rose pink and white above finely divided blue-green foliage. The narrow spurs sweep backwards from the contrasting inner petals, giving every bloom the elegant, bird-like outline for which aquilegias are loved. Upright yet natural in appearance, it is equally at home in a cottage border, woodland edge or sunny rock garden and provides useful stems for cutting. Bees and other long-tongued pollinators visit the spring flowers, while seed-raised plants may offer subtle variations in the rose colouring.
