Aquilegia Rostern Crimson Star

'Crimson Star' is a dramatic long-spurred columbine whose large flowers combine rich crimson-red outer petals and spurs with a clean white central corolla. The sharply contrasting colours and swept-back spurs create a bright, star-like display above airy, divided foliage in late spring and early summer. Tall enough to rise through neighbouring plants yet light in habit, it suits cottage borders, woodland margins and cut-flower gardens. The nectar-rich blooms attract bees and other pollinators, while seed-raised plants may provide attractive variations within the same red-and-white theme.
