ViewStewardson's jack-in-the-pulpit is a distinctive wetland member of the Arisaema triphyllum group from north-eastern North America. A strongly ridged green or purple-brown spathe tube surrounds the upright spadix, while a hood arches above in pale and dark stripes. The flower is followed by a single leaf divided into three broad leaflets and, on mature female plants, a vivid cluster of red berries. It is naturally associated with sphagnum bogs, swampy woods and cool stream margins, making it an unusual choice for a shaded bog garden where the soil remains acidic, humus-rich and continuously moist.
