Armeria euscadiensis is a rare thrift endemic to the Atlantic cliffs and coastal hills of the Basque Country in northern Spain. It forms robust evergreen rosettes of glossy, lance-shaped leaves and sends up strong stems carrying rounded pink flower heads from late spring into summer. Unlike the finer common sea thrift, this species has a broader, more substantial foliage effect and can make an impressive specimen in a trough or exposed rock garden. Adapted to salt-laden winds, sunny cliffs and base-rich soils, it combines resilience with conservation interest and is best grown in sharp drainage with little competition.
