Armeria Maritima Rubrifolia

'Rubrifolia' is a richly coloured sea thrift with narrow evergreen leaves flushed deep bronze, burgundy and purple-red, the tones strengthening in cool weather and bright sun. From late spring, slender stems rise above the dark cushion carrying rounded heads of clear rose-pink flowers. The combination provides interest before and after the main bloom and creates striking edging for gravel paths, troughs or containers. Compact, salt tolerant and drought resistant once established, it needs little more than full sun, modest soil and perfect drainage to maintain its dense habit and dramatic foliage.
