Azorella Trifurcata Nana

Azorella trifurcata 'Nana' forms an exceptionally low, dense evergreen cushion of tiny glossy leaves, each divided into three narrow points. The mat slowly spreads over gravel and stone, developing the hard, sculpted surface typical of plants adapted to cold, exposed South American landscapes. Minute yellow-green flowers appear close to the foliage and are followed by equally small fruits, but the main attraction is the year-round texture. Formerly known as Bolax, this dwarf selection is superb in troughs, crevices and alpine houses, where cool roots, full light and perfect drainage can be maintained.
