Bupleurum Angulosum

Bupleurum angulosum is a refined Pyrenean perennial with upright, distinctly angular stems and glaucous blue-green leaves that partially clasp the growth. In midsummer it produces small yellow flowers in compact umbels surrounded by broad, yellow-green bracts, creating a long-lasting architectural display. Naturally found in high mountain meadows and rocky limestone ground, it withstands cold, wind and poor soil while resenting waterlogging. Its unusual foliage and restrained colouring make it an excellent companion for silver-leaved alpines, grasses and compact alliums in a sunny scree or raised bed.
