Campanula Latifolia 'Gloaming'

‘Gloaming’ is a tall, elegant bellflower with upright stems clothed in dark green, lance-shaped leaves and numerous outward-facing bells in an unusual greyish pale purple. The muted colouring has the soft quality of evening light suggested by its name and is particularly effective in partial shade, where the flowers retain their subtle tone. Blooming for a long period in summer, it adds vertical structure without appearing rigid and mingles beautifully with ferns, astrantias and woodland perennials. It is easy to grow in fertile soil but benefits from staking in exposed positions.
