Cardamine Bulbifera Pink

Coralroot bittercress is a distinctive European woodland perennial with upright stems, narrow toothed leaflets and clusters of pale pink to mauve, four-petalled flowers in spring. As the blooms develop, glossy deep purple bulbils form in the axils of the upper leaves, eventually falling into the surrounding leaf litter and producing new plants. Fleshy, coral-like underground rhizomes allow the colony to spread further. It is an excellent choice for a moist, shaded woodland garden, where the flowers brighten the ground layer before the tree canopy closes and the bulbils provide lasting botanical interest.
