Cassia Siamea

Senna siamea, formerly Cassia siamea, is a fast-growing tropical tree from South and Southeast Asia with a broad crown of glossy, finely divided foliage. Large terminal panicles of clear yellow flowers appear against the dark leaves, often followed by numerous flat brown pods. Known as the kassod or Siamese cassia, it is widely planted in warm countries as a shade, avenue and timber tree. From seed it develops quickly into an attractive conservatory or frost-free garden specimen, combining a light, fern-like canopy with vivid flowering, although its eventual size requires generous space.
