Clematis Integrifolia Blue Ribbons

‘Blue Ribbons’ is a compact, non-climbing clematis that forms a tidy herbaceous clump only about half a metre high. Slender stems carry widely bell-shaped flowers of deep violet-blue from midsummer into early autumn, each bloom held clearly above simple green leaves. The petals twist and open as they mature, revealing pale stamens, and are followed by silvery, feathered seed heads that extend the season. It is excellent at the front of a border, among low grasses or in a large container, where its rich colour can be enjoyed without a trellis.
