‘Mongolian Bells’ is a compact strain of herbaceous clematis producing short, bushy plants that do not climb. From early summer, nodding bell-shaped flowers appear in a lively mixture of blue, mauve, pink and white, often with twisted or recurving edges that give each bloom an individual character. Dark green leaves form a neat background, while feathery silver seed heads add interest after the flowers fade. Ideal for edging, rock gardens, containers or weaving among low perennials, the strain offers exceptional variety from a small and easily managed plant.
