Corydalis Flexuosa 'Korn's Purple'

‘Korn’s Purple’ is a compact woodland corydalis with finely divided green foliage and racemes of richly coloured flowers in early summer. Deep violet-blue outer petals surround contrasting white inner petals, giving each spurred bloom a crisp two-tone effect. The plant forms a neat clump rather than running aggressively and is especially effective beneath open shrubs, beside ferns or along a shaded path. It prefers cool, humus-rich soil that remains moist yet drained, and may retreat during hot dry weather before returning when conditions improve. Seedlings can reveal attractive variation.
