Cotoneaster Polycarpus

Cotoneaster polycarpus is an unresolved horticultural name, so this seed should be treated as a collector’s batch rather than a plant of completely settled identity. Seedlings are expected to show the familiar cotoneaster combination of thornless branches, simple leaves, small five-petalled flowers and berry-like pomes, but mature habit, fruit colour and ultimate size should be recorded before a firm determination is made. The uncertainty adds botanical interest, especially for growers able to compare plants with authenticated material. Keep detailed labels and photographs as they mature.
