Cyclamen Hederifolium Subsp Crassifolium

Cyclamen hederifolium subsp. crassifolium is a robust Greek form of ivy-leaved cyclamen with unusually thick, fleshy and often glossy leaves. The foliage may be five-, seven- or nine-sided and displays intricate patterns in green, grey and silver. Pink or white flowers rise directly from bare ground in early autumn before the leaves fully expand, creating a fresh display beneath trees and shrubs. Once established, the plants are remarkably durable and can form substantial, long-lived tubers. Their bold leaves give this subspecies a more exotic appearance than typical ivy-leaved cyclamen.
