Cyclamen Hildebrandii

Cyclamen x hildebrandii is a fascinating cultivated hybrid between the North African Cyclamen africanum and the hardy ivy-leaved C. hederifolium. It combines large, thick and often strongly toothed leaves with bold silver patterning and autumn flowers in shades of pink. Seedlings may inherit the substantial foliage and fragrance of C. africanum together with some of the vigour and resilience of C. hederifolium, although each plant will be different. This variability makes the hybrid especially appealing to collectors seeking unusual leaf forms and flowers unavailable in established named cultivars.
