Cyclamen Maritimum

Cyclamen maritimum is an autumn-flowering species from south-western Turkey, northern Cyprus and nearby Aegean islands. Formerly treated as a subspecies of C. graecum, it has slender pink flowers with a comparatively small basal blotch and slightly flared auricles. Heart-shaped leaves may be marked in green, pale silver and warm brown tones and arise from a tuber with long, fleshy anchoring roots. It is best grown as a cool greenhouse specimen, where its delicate flowers, intricate foliage and Mediterranean seasonal rhythm can be observed without damage from winter saturation.
