Dactylorhiza Hybrids Mixture

This mixture offers the opportunity to raise a varied group of hardy marsh and spotted orchid hybrids. Dactylorhiza species cross readily, so seedlings may differ in flower colour, lip markings, leaf spotting, height and the density of their flower spikes. Shades can range from pale pink and rose to deep purple, often with intricate loops, dots or dashes on the broad lower lip. Mature plants form finger-like underground tubers and favour cool, unfertilised soil. Raising them from seed is a specialist long-term project, but each flowering plant may prove completely individual.
