Delphinium Consolida 'Limelight Carmine'

Delphinium consolida ‘Linlight Carmine’ produces upright spires of richly coloured carmine-pink flowers, giving strong vertical emphasis and clear colour in early summer. The finely cut foliage and open habit lend the plant a light, transparent quality, allowing it to sit naturally among other annuals and meadow-style planting. Derived from Delphinium consolida, a species native to southern Europe and western Asia, this selected strain maintains the wild plant’s grace while concentrating flower colour into a deeper, more saturated tone. Plants grow quickly from seed, forming slender stems lined with closely spaced flowers that open progressively up the spike. As with all seed-raised strains, some variation in intensity of colour is to be expected. Growth is upright and lightly branching, with flowering strongest in full sun and on well-drained soil. Once in flower, plants provide a defined but airy presence, contributing height without heaviness.
