This choice, rare, perennial, tiniest, and possibly most-attractive of all foxgloves is unmistakable with its short branching spikes bearing pendulous, delicate rose to almost white, trumpet-shaped flowers arising above a basal rosette of narrow, white-haired leaves. The dwarf rosettes of thick, leathery leaves slowly increase, making in time a compact hairy shrub. It is one of the most beautiful endemic plant species in the Balearics, (Mallorca, Menorca, and Cabrera) where it lives in rocky crags, often colonising the soil at the foot of mountain cliff faces. It is perfect for any rich, well drained soil in the rock garden, or as a front-of-border plant or even in an alpine house or on a hot window sill indoors! Very few seeds collected.
