Draba Hispanica

Draba hispanica is a miniature Spanish whitlow-grass that forms tight evergreen rosettes of stiff, grey-green leaves edged and surfaced with fine hairs. In early spring, short stems carry clusters of clear yellow, four-petalled flowers, creating a bright display while many alpines are still dormant. Native to exposed limestone crevices and mountain rock in the Iberian Peninsula, it is adapted to intense sun, cold and lean mineral soil. Its compact cushions and early bloom make it an excellent choice for a stone trough or alpine house, where perfect drainage can be maintained.
