Eragrostis Trichoides

Eragrostis trichodes, commonly called sand lovegrass, is a warm-season North American grass forming airy clumps of fine green leaves and clouds of delicate flower panicles. The inflorescences emerge with pink and bronze tones before fading to soft tan, catching light and moving beautifully in summer breezes. Deep fibrous roots bind loose sandy soil, explaining its value on dunes, roadsides and dry prairie. In gardens it brings a transparent veil to gravel planting and combines well with late daisies and seed heads. Heat, full sun and lean drainage produce the finest, most graceful growth.
