Erythronium Pale Pink Hybrids

These pale pink Erythronium hybrids offer a varied group of woodland bulbs with elegant swept-back flowers held above pairs of broad leaves, often marbled in green, bronze or silver. Seedlings may range from blush white and shell pink to deeper rose, with contrasting yellow, brown or dark centres and differing petal shape. Known as trout lilies or dog's-tooth violets, erythroniums grow during the cool light of spring before retreating underground for summer. A mixed planting beneath deciduous shrubs can develop into a graceful, long-lived colony, although patience is essential from seed.
