These plants are sumptuous, easy, beautiful and stoloniferous, which means they spread well. They have glaucous leaves, and thin stems which carry two to four flowers, about 25 mm (1") long, and plump like a plum, which are lime green and heavily chequered purple-black over brown. This species is native to much of Europe where they usually bloom early, in March and April before experiencing a dry summer.
