Gaillardia Aristata 'Fire Wheels'

Gaillardia aristata 'Fire Wheels' is a compact, sturdy blanket flower distinguished by unusual tubular or quilled petals in brilliant scarlet-red, each flared tip picked out in yellow. Introduced as a seed strain in 2020, it can flower in its first year from an early sowing and forms neat plants around 35cm tall. The long display from June to September brings fiery colour to sunny borders, gravel gardens and pots, while the open flower centres provide an accessible source of nectar. It is a rewarding choice for keen home growers.
