Gentiana Asclepiadea Knightshayes Form

‘Knightshayes’ is a selected form of willow gentian, producing elegant arching stems lined with paired lance-shaped leaves and upward-facing trumpet flowers in late summer. The blooms are typically a clear, rich blue and open from the upper leaf axils, creating a long cascade of colour rather than a single terminal spike. Named for Knightshayes in Devon, this refined perennial improves steadily with age and can become a substantial woodland-border specimen. It thrives in cool partial shade and deep, humus-rich soil, bringing gentian blue to a season when many shade plants have finished.
