Geranium Glaberrimum

Geranium glaberrimum is an uncommon smooth-leaved cranesbill from the eastern Mediterranean and western Asian region. It forms a spreading clump of divided green foliage and carries open five-petalled flowers in pink to purple tones above the leaves during summer. The epithet glaberrimum means very smooth, referring to the relative lack of hairs compared with many other hardy geraniums. Its naturalistic habit makes it suitable for a sunny border edge or lightly shaded rock garden, where free-draining soil and moderate moisture allow the plant to retain a neat, floriferous form.
