Geranium Phaeum 'De Val's Lilac Shadow'

Geranium phaeum 'De Val's Lilac Shadow' is a seedling selection discovered here at Plant World. It combines the dusky cranesbill’s exceptional tolerance of shade with an unusually fresh flower colour. The expected blooms are Lilac, strongly overlaid by purple veins that draw the eye towards the centre, which rise above a mound of lobed green foliage in late spring. Individual seedlings may vary and very few seeds have been set. Tough, long lived and useful beneath shrubs or in woodland borders, the plants can be cut back after flowering for fresh leaves and occasional repeat bloom.
