Helichrysum Bracteatum Double Red

Double Red strawflower is a tall, branching annual with rich red, many-layered flower heads whose crisp, papery bracts hold their shape and colour long after cutting. Fresh blooms shine in sunny borders and attract bees and butterflies, while stems harvested just as the heads begin to open dry into durable material for wreaths, arrangements and winter decoration. Native Australian Xerochrysum bracteatum thrives in heat and free-draining soil, flowering from midsummer until frost. Seedlings may vary slightly in depth of red, adding natural richness to a grouped display.
