Helichrysum Bracteatum Purple Red

Purple Red strawflower produces upright, well-branched plants crowned by papery everlasting heads in burgundy, wine and purple-crimson shades. The stiff, glossy bracts surround a golden central disc, creating flowers that are handsome in the garden, valuable to pollinators and exceptionally long lasting after drying. Cut stems before the heads are fully open to preserve their compact form and strongest colour. This warm-loving Australian annual performs best in full sun and drained soil, continuing from summer until frost and supplying rich-toned material for bouquets and winter arrangements.
