Heuchera Villosa

Hairy alumroot is a substantial eastern North American heuchera with broad, softly hairy, lobed leaves forming a generous semi-evergreen mound. Loose sprays of small white to blush-pink bells rise on slender stems in late summer, extending the heuchera season after many spring-flowering species have finished. The foliage gives excellent ground cover beneath shrubs and around larger perennials, while the species is notably tolerant of summer heat and humidity. It thrives in sheltered partial shade with fertile, drained soil and benefits from mulch around its slowly rising woody crown.
