Iris Bulleyana Hybrids

These Iris bulleyana hybrids should produce graceful, moisture-loving plants with narrow leaves and elegant early-summer flowers in shades of blue, violet, purple, lilac and occasional white. The falls often carry a contrasting yellow or white signal traced with darker veins, giving every bloom crisp detail. The species was named for Liverpool nurseryman Arthur Kilpin Bulley, founder of Ness Botanic Gardens, and comes from wet meadows and stream margins in south-western China. Seedlings will vary, offering useful scope for selecting distinctive colours and strong garden forms.
