Kniphofia 'Alcazar'

‘Alcazar’ is a classic red-hot poker with strong stems rising above clumps of long, arching leaves. Dense summer and early-autumn spikes begin fiery red-orange in bud and open from the base into glowing orange-yellow tubes, creating the two-tone torch effect that makes kniphofias so distinctive. Bees are drawn to the nectar-rich flowers, while the bold vertical form works beautifully with grasses and late perennials. Hardy in drained soil and long lived once settled, it needs sun and summer moisture but dislikes cold, waterlogged ground.
