Kundmannia Sicula

Kundmannia sicula is an uncommon Mediterranean perennial in the carrot family, forming a basal rosette of divided green leaves and upright stems topped by open umbels of small yellow flowers. The airy heads attract many small pollinating and predatory insects, while the fine foliage gives the plant a light, naturalistic character. Native to dry grassland and rocky ground around the Mediterranean, it is adapted to heat, drought and poor soils. It makes an unusual addition to gravel gardens, wildlife borders and collections of architectural Apiaceae.
