Lamprocapnos Spectabilis 'Valentine'

‘Valentine’ is a richly coloured bleeding heart with arching dark red stems carrying rows of vivid scarlet-red hearts, each tipped by a sharply contrasting white inner petal. New foliage emerges with a reddish flush before maturing to fresh green, adding another layer of spring colour. The elegant stems rise from a long-lived clump and make an unforgettable late-spring display in partial shade. Bred under the name ‘Hordival’, it is bolder than the familiar pink form and combines beautifully with ferns, hostas and pale woodland bulbs.
