Laserpitium Siler

Laserpitium siler, now often treated as Siler montanum, is a handsome European mountain perennial with a broad rosette of divided blue-green leaves and tall branching stems of creamy white umbels. The flowering heads create a strong but airy architectural effect in summer and attract a wide range of insects. Known historically as laserwort or sermountain, its aromatic roots and fruits were once used as spices and in traditional preparations. Native to rocky limestone slopes and open woodland, it is drought tolerant once established and suits a spacious gravel border.
