Leonurus Cardiaca Ex Cally Gardens

This Cally Gardens seed strain of motherwort should produce tall, upright perennials with deeply lobed leaves and tiers of small pink, purple-spotted flowers arranged around the stems. The flowers are rich in nectar and attract bees over a long summer season, while the angular foliage gives the plant a strong wild-garden character. Leonurus cardiaca has a long European association with herbal medicine, reflected in its name, but garden plants are best treated as ornamentals. Tough and adaptable, it suits wildlife borders and informal herbaceous planting.
