Lilium Martagon 'Tsingense'

'Tsingense' is an unusual Martagon hybrid raised from Lilium × dalhansonii and the upright-flowered L. tsingtauense. Tall stems carry brilliant orange blooms with small central spots, while the foliage shows the broad, handsome whorls inherited from its East Asian parent. The flowers may be more open and fan shaped than a classic tightly recurved martagon and appear comparatively late, extending the woodland-lily season into July. Rare and sought after for its distinctive genetic background, it is especially effective rising through hostas and other shade perennials.
