Lilium Taliense Kaichen

The Kaichen form of Lilium taliense is associated with yellow-toned plants from the mountains of south-western China. Upright stems carry nodding, lightly fragrant flowers in cream, pale yellow or warm gold, usually densely spotted with purple-brown and reflexed towards the tips. The rich markings and restrained trumpet form give it an attractive wild character quite unlike a formal hybrid lily. Adapted to grassy limestone slopes and open mountain woodland, it prefers cool summers, bright light and sharp calcareous drainage. Seedlings may reveal valuable variation in colour and spotting.
