Lobelia X Speciosa 'Hadspen Purple'

'Hadspen Purple' is a refined hybrid lobelia with upright stems, purple-flushed green foliage and terminal racemes of brilliant royal-purple, two-lipped flowers. Blooming from midsummer into early autumn, it brings a rare depth of cool colour to moist borders and combines beautifully with silver foliage, pink astilbes and ornamental grasses. The plant is compact enough for smaller gardens yet strong enough to make a clear vertical accent. It is hardy in drained ground but appreciates fertile soil, reliable summer moisture and a dry protective mulch over the crown during winter.
